Planning to perform Umrah? If yes, one of the most important
things you should be aware of is how to reach the state of ihraam, because
without entering ihraam, you cannot access the Miqat that is the border around
Mecca that is in all directions. Therefore, pilgrims must take the direction of
travel into account. For those who live in Mecca itself, they are supposed to
enter Ihram from Tanaym located just outside Mecca where the Mosque of Al-Aisha
(RA) is located.
State of Ihram
Ihraam is often misunderstood as a mere two sheets of white
cloth that men see wearing while performing Umrah or Hajj. What is Ihram
exactly? The word Ihram literally means that it is forbidden or forbidden. Once
the pilgrim (Haj) announces his intention or the intention of 'Umrah and utters
the student, he is prohibited (permissible) certain things that are permissible
(haraam). This joint act between the intention and the good is known as ihram.
If someone wears only the white without saying his structure and pronouncing it
in the student, he has not yet entered ihraam, which is why he can still cover
his head while offering two rak'ahs of nafil, which is not permitted when they

1 - Preparation for Ihram:
Cut your nails, remove unwanted body hair, trim the
mustache, comb your hair and shape your beard.
2 - Purification (Tahra):
Make the intention of ihram and take a bath. Otherwise, you
can perform wudoo '. One thing to take into account here is that there are two
aspects to purifying yourself:
Purify your body by bathing or performing wudoo 'and second;
internal purification by sincerely apologizing for your sins. Make a prayer,
"God, repent sincerely for my sins and ask forgiveness."
3 - Sheets Ihram:
Men should wear two sheets of white cloth. One to cover the
upper body and another to cover the lower part of the body. For women, the
normal attire they wear is ihraam. Both are expected to wear these slippers so
that the middle bones in the upper part of the foot remain exposed.
4 - Presentation of Naval Salah:
If the time is undesirable, show 2 rak'ahs of nafl for
ihraam and cover your head as you do so.
5. Tip:
Do you travel to Jeddah by plane? Then the most appropriate
way to reach the state of Ihram is inside the plane. How do you do this? Keep
everything either at home or at the airport regardless of the intention
(Niyyah) and Talbiyah. You can shower and offer two rak'ahs of Nafil but
remember that you still have not entered the state of Ihraam because you have
not declared Niyyah about you and I said Talabiyya that you need to be right
before crossing the border line known as Miqat.
Now enter the plane wearing those white leaves. What is good

the Miqat so you can advertise your intention (niyyah) and pronounce the

talking about it and say it yourself when there is almost an hour to reach
Jeddah.
6 - Intention and Medical:
After that, you must reveal your head and make the
intention. Please make it easy for me and accept it from me.
Immediately afterwards, say "Talabiyya" three
times, then try to say it whenever possible. In case you do not know by heart,
you can even translate the translation in English or in your native language.
However, remember to cajole or translate spoken louder than men and low-voice
women.
7- Duaa:
After the end of the intention and studentism, read Darood
Sharif and deny to God any prayer in Arabic or even your own language.
8 - Prevention of Ihram:
When you enter ihraam, there are a few things that are forbidden
(haraam) for you. Here are a few things you should not do:
Nail cutting
- Shaving or cutting hair
Face cover for women and head coverings for men
Wearing perfume
-Sex
- Murder or hunting
Wear sewn clothes (for men)
- Cover the middle bone of the upper area of the feet
(applicable to both men and women)
9 - Journey to Mecca:
When you start your journey to the city of Mecca, continue
to recite as much as you can. Enter the city with all your humility and love in
your heart while reading the Talib.
After heading towards the place where you will reside, go
towards Mecca and perform Umrah!
